In joining the Hewood Organics CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), you are agreeing to the following terms:

When you decide to become a CSA member, you are making a commitment to our farm, and we are very grateful for your trust.

  • To select a payment level on the sliding scale that reflects your income and available resources, and to willingly participate in our community’s effort towards equity in a broken food system.

  • That your membership is for the minimum period of 10 weeks and that this commitment, whether a one-off payment or monthly instalment share, is vital to the success of the farm.

  • There are no refunds, full or partial, for cancellation of your CSA membership, and that by signing up, you are committing to participating in the Spring season. If you choose to pay in instalments, you still commit to paying the balance in full and staying in communication with the Hewood Organics team.

  • Your contact details may be shared with any other local businesses that are acting as a collection point for the purpose of administering and organising the CSA (e.g. completing a spreadsheet of membership details, organising collection). Your details will not be used for any other purpose.

  • You must collect your weekly share from your chosen pick-up point.

  • If you are out of town or unable to collect your CSA share for any reason, it is your responsibility to contact the Hewood Organics team in good time, or to find someone to collect your share on your behalf .

  • If your share is not picked up during the designated day/time window and you have not contacted the Hewood Organics Team to make other arrangements, the farm reserve the right to donate your share and you will not receive credit or a refund.

  • You are responsible for bringing back any boxes (if our next risk assessment allows for us to go back to using boxes).

Farming is a seasonal and unpredictable undertaking. The share will vary from week to week, depending on what is looking best in the fields at that time. Fluctuation and variations are inherent in farming (due to seasons, weather, pests, and other unforeseen forces of nature). Hewood Organics will, to the best of its ability, provide the freshest, highest quality vegetables possible

  • As a member, the risks and bounties of farming are shared

  •  However unlikely, you are taking on part of the risk of planting, growing, and tending to crops. Farming is unpredictable. We can't guarantee there won't be variations in the quality and quantity of the produce we're able to harvest, depending on circumstances that are beyond our control, such as unfavourable weather, pests, or even the total loss of crops due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, or drought.
